Talented artist Veselova Veronika from the village of Kholui has crafted this miniature based on the interesting "The Tale of Golden Cockerel".
The scene is showing an interesting moment of the a fairytale, when the magician has brought a Golden Rooster to Tsar Dadon. On the background we can see two sons of Tsar Dadon and to the left-a tent of Shemakha Tsarina and Tsarina herself. Composition is busy with several other characters and VERY detailed! Check the size!
Orange, red and brown tones dominate here. Gold is abundantly used to add various details to the scene.
The scene is framed with beautiful gold scrolling designs. The sides of the box are filled with richly detailed ornament, featuring foliage, scrollwork, and also beading. The lid is hinged from the top of the painting, and the piece rests flat.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer was used to paint the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the box. Veselova has signed, dated (2013), titled ("Tale of Golden Cockerel") the composition at the bottom of the lid.
