Description:

Alexander Dogadin of Mstera painted this work. It depicts events from the Pushkin's "Tale of the Sleeping Princess and the Seven Bogatyrs." This tale tells about the beautiful girl who suffered from her beauty. Her wicked and envious stepmother tried to kill her several times intending to surpass her in beauty. The end of this story is happy. The girl's suitor, Prince Yelisey, saved the girl. He kissed her, and the girl awakened up from the eternal sleep.
The left part of the composition shows the wicked Queen ordering her servant to kill a girl. "Lead my stepdaughter into the forest, and leave her there to be killed by wild animals"
