This large box is a stunning creation of one of the top Fedoskino artists , Dmitriy Rogatov. In the foreground the artist has painted the family of villagers on the edge of field while in the background the picturesque country landscape is depicted. The village people picked up potates and other grocieries from a field. Some of them turned to us by their back, because they are watching wild gooses flew to the South, to the warm countries... So sad, the fall has come...Winter with the snow will be the next...
The work is drawn in the realistic painting style. The landscape painted in the background is drawn in subdued blue and grey tones, whereas the foreground is painted in brown tones.
The scene is framed with a wide gold line.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer was used to paint the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes its interior. A hinge is fastened to the top of the scene, and the box rests on the four legs. Signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino, and the year of 2014.
